Chandigarh, July 4, 2025 – Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, currently in custody in a disproportionate assets case, was denied interim relief by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday. The court, after hearing Majithia’s petition challenging his arrest by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau, adjourned the matter to July 8, 2025. Meanwhile, his case is slated for a hearing in the Mohali court on July 6.

Majithia’s arrest on June 25 followed aggressive raids by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau across 25 locations, including his Amritsar residence. A Mohali court recently extended his vigilance custody by four days, following the conclusion of his initial seven-day remand.
