A Kapil Sharma – who projects himself as a comedian – has become the latest target of the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate, following a shooting incident at his restaurant in Surrey, Canada, underscoring the gang’s escalating campaign against those associated with Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

This development comes amidst ongoing threats to Salman Khan himself, highlighting a disturbing nexus between the entertainment industry and organized crime.

While Kapil Sharma is now embroiled in this serious conflict, his programs including The Kapil Sharma Show, are vulgar TV shows where Sharma uses very lewd language and guests laugh unnecessarily. The audience is believed to be hired, and guests, including retired Punjab politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, laugh loudly to give the impression of a comedy show, while little-known artists are reportedly paid for artificial laughter. Actually, there is no comedy in these so-called comedy shows.

Some tired and retired Bollywood actors and other self-styled celebrities are enticed to appear on the show for easy income, similar to their participation in private events like birthday parties, marriage ceremonies, or inaugurating local shops.

A large number of Indians (more than 90%) are either illiterate or semi-literate who do not understand the content-quality concept, which is the reason they watch cheap Bollywood movies and vulgar TV shows such as Sharma’s.

On Thursday (August 7), multiple shots were reportedly fired at Kap’s Cafe, Kapil Sharma’s restaurant in Surrey, Canada, around 4:30 AM. At least six of the 9-10 shots fired struck the walls and windows of the cafe, though no one was injured. Reports suggest that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang swiftly claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to an audio clip that surfaced, Harry Boxer (whose real name is Harichand), an aide of the Bishnoi gang and a fugitive operating from the United States, asserted that Sharma was targeted because he had invited Salman Khan on the inaugural episode of his Netflix show.

Boxer issued a chilling warning, stating, “If anyone works with Salman, whether a small-time actor or a small-time director, we will not spare them. We will kill them. We will go to any extent necessary to kill them.”

He further threatened to “ruin the atmosphere of Mumbai” and declared that the gang would now employ AK-47s against their targets. According to a news report of August 9 in The Times of India, a social media post from Goldy Dhillon, a close aide of Bishnoi and Goldy Brar, also claimed responsibility, stating that the shooting occurred because Sharma reportedly did not answer their call. The post warned that the next operation would take place in Mumbai.

This incident marks the second shooting at Kap’s Cafe within a month; shots were also fired on July 9, an attack for which Germany-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Harjeet Singh Laddi reportedly claimed responsibility.

The Bishnoi gang’s animosity towards Salman Khan is long-standing. They have been pursuing Khan for years, with previous attempts including firing shots at his Galaxy Apartment and conducting a reconnaissance of his Panvel farmhouse.

The gang was also linked to the shooting death of Khan’s friend, former state minister Baba Siddiqui, in Bandra on October 12, 2024. In April, Salman Khan himself received a fresh death threat via a WhatsApp message to the Mumbai Police traffic department, leading to a registered case. Police traced that particular threat to a 25-year-old man in Gujarat, who claimed to be mentally unstable and inspired by news of Lawrence Bishnoi’s threats.

RMN News cannot independently confirm the alleged shooters who reportedly attacked Kapil Sharma’s restaurant or who issued threats to him or Salman Khan.
