During spot interrogation by the intelligence bureau, the man identified himself as Rajesh Bhai Khimji Bhai Sakriya, 41 years old, and claimed to be a resident of Rajkot. Police are currently verifying his details and have contacted Gujarat Police to ascertain his antecedents.

The incident has drawn strong condemnation from political leaders. Delhi BJP president Virendraa Sachdeva denounced the attack as a “serious breach of security” and demanded accountability. Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav expressed his dismay, stating, “This is very unfortunate. If the CM of Delhi is not safe, how can a common man or woman be safe?”.

The Civil Lines residence is a designated weekly venue where the Chief Minister meets citizens to hear their grievances.
