Saiyaara Tops IMDb’s Most Popular Indian Movies of 2025, While The Bads of Bollywood Leads Web Series List

In a testament to the evolving tastes of global audiences, IMDb has unveiled its annual lists of the most popular Indian movies and web series for 2025, with Yash Raj Films‘ romantic musical Saiyaara claiming the top spot among films and Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Bads of Bollywood dominating the series category.
The rankings, released on December 10, 2025, are determined solely by actual page views from IMDb’s more than 250 million monthly visitors worldwide. Eligible titles include those released in India between January 1 and November 30, 2025, with an average user rating of 6 or higher.
Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and starring debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, emerged as the undisputed leader in the movies list. The film, a heartfelt musical romance, resonated deeply with audiences, becoming a blockbuster and marking a triumphant return for the genre in Hindi cinema.
Yaminie Patodia, Head of IMDb India, highlighted the diversity and innovation in this year’s selections: “These lists demonstrate the boldness and innovation of Indian creators, with a diverse range of storytelling across genres like romance, animation, satire, and superhero epics. It is especially exciting to see distinctly Indian stories and cultural narratives resonating with audiences around the world.”

On the series front, The Bads of Bollywood, a satirical take on the Hindi film industry, topped the list. Directed by Aryan Khan, the show captured global attention with its bold humor and insider perspective, spawning memes and fan engagement worldwide. Khan noted that the series aimed to “shake the room and own the conversation,” becoming a pop cultural phenomenon.
The web series list leans heavily toward crime thrillers (seven of the top 10), with six entries being new seasons or franchise extensions. Platforms like Netflix and Prime Video dominate, each with four titles, followed by two from JioHotstar.
