UN Anti-Corruption Conference Set for Doha in December 2025

The United Nations Convention against Corruption stands as the only legally binding universal anti-corruption instrument.

The eleventh session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption (COSP11), often referred to as the UN Anti-Corruption Conference, is scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, from 15 to 19 December 2025. This conference is recognized as the world’s largest international gathering dedicated to combating corruption and functions as the main policymaking body for the Convention.

Held under the theme Shaping Tomorrow’s Integrity,” COSP11 is expected to bring together over 2,000 participants, including high-level officials, representing governments, civil society, the private sector, and regional and intergovernmental organizations. The central focus of the session will be on addressing new and emerging threats in the fight against corruption and bolstering international cooperation to effectively counter the realities of complex criminal activities today.

Participants will engage in discussions across a wide range of critical anti-corruption topics. Key agenda items include leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and new technologies to transform efforts in both preventing and detecting corruption. The conference will also explore solutions to strengthen anti-corruption efforts within the private sector and help shape the future of global business integrity.

Additionally, the gathering will examine the crucial links between corruption, economic crime, and organized crime, highlighting the necessity of international cooperation to expose criminal networks and ensure accountability. Measures designed to help countries strengthen public financial systems, improve transparency, and reduce illicit financial flows will also be discussed. Significantly, the importance of safeguarding whistle-blowers, investigative journalism, and media professionals who work to expose corruption will be a topic of discussion.

The United Nations Convention against Corruption stands as the only legally binding universal anti-corruption instrument. The Parties to the Convention meet every two years to review its implementation and deliberate on ways to enhance cooperation between States to achieve the Convention’s objectives.
