GENEVA – International superstar and tech entrepreneur will.i.am is set to headline the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva this July. Since 2025, will.i.am has served as the Goodwill Ambassador for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)’s AI Skills Coalition, advocating for the idea that the future of artificial intelligence should be open to everyone rather than shaped by a select few.
Democratizing AI Education: At the summit, will.i.am will take center stage to spotlight his ongoing work in AI education and the importance of developing technical skills outside of traditional classroom settings. His efforts through the AI Skills Coalition are already reaching tens of thousands of learners worldwide. A key highlight of this work is an initiative across Africa, supported by a $1 million grant from Google.org, which provides AI and robotics training to youth in nations such as Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana.
The goal is to transition young people from being mere consumers of technology to becoming creators, potentially unlocking new pathways for entrepreneurship and local innovation.
The Intersection of AI, Mobility, and Academia: Beyond education, will.i.am will showcase how AI interacts with physical infrastructure through the “Mobility” track at the summit. He will present his three-wheeled “TRINITY” concept, which demonstrates embedded AI systems that integrate conversational AI and adaptive decision-making for a more intuitive human-machine driving experience.
His leadership also extends to higher education. As a Professor of Practice at Arizona State University’s (ASU) GAME School, he teaches a course titled “The Agentic Self”. This curriculum allows students to build and interact with their own AI agents, focusing on the practical application of AI in daily life while emphasizing ethics, inclusion, and the elimination of bias.
A Vision for Inclusion: The summit will serve as a platform to highlight how will.i.am’s career in music and entrepreneurship has informed his focus on expanding access to opportunity. By connecting technology with creativity and culture, the ITU aims to foster an AI ecosystem that is more inclusive, representative, and empowering for global communities.
