Thirteen leaders from various parties attended the meeting in New Delhi. Before proceedings began, a moment of silence was observed for the victims of the attack.
Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, stated to the media after the meeting that “Everyone condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The opposition has given full support to the government to take any action”. He had earlier extended his full support following the attack that left 26 civilians dead and several injured.

Rajnath Singh debriefed the ministers on the attack and the actions already taken by the government. The meeting was also attended by Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Kiren Rijiju.
According to Akashvani, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, while sharing collective condemnation, called for efforts to maintain peace in Jammu and Kashmir. Security lapses were discussed during the meeting. TMC MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay confirmed that the government received the assured support of all parties for decisions taken in the country’s interest.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh emphasised the need to “fix accountability” and demanded a “befitting reply to the terrorists in their language”. He specifically called for strict action against Pakistan and the destruction of terrorist camps.
AIMIM MP Assaduddin Owaisi attended the meeting after questioning the exclusion of smaller parties. He requested that the terror attacks not be politicised and extended his support to “whatever decision the government takes”.
The reports also mention that the government had previously given a five-point response to the terror attack, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and asking all Pakistani nationals to depart from India within 48 hours.
All opposition leaders extended support for all future actions by the government.
