Two Arrested for Fabricating Forensic Report to Shield Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Amid ‘Guru Dokhi’ Crisis
Haryana Police have arrested two individuals for attempting to bribe a forensic expert to falsify a report to protect Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann from a viral video scandal. This development follows a declaration by the Akal Takht labeling Mann a “Guru Dokhi,” as the SGPC asserts the Chief Minister has lost the moral authority to govern due to blatant dishonesty and the dismantling of his “AI-generated” defense.

Haryana Police have arrested two men, identified as Ankit of Jind and Arun of Sirsa, following a complaint by a forensic expert regarding the fabrication of electronic records. The expert, Jaspreet Singh, alleged he was offered ₹10 lakh to procure a forged forensic report that would have provided a clean chit to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in an ongoing “objectionable” video controversy. Singh further claimed he was threatened with professional and personal consequences if he refused to sign the documents, which were reportedly “cleared at the highest levels”.
The investigation into this fabrication attempt centers on allegations that employees at private laboratories were pressured to produce a predetermined report declaring the video doctored, regardless of actual findings. According to the complaint, draft reports were repeatedly edited under the WhatsApp supervision of Punjab Police officers to meet specific expectations. This attempted manipulation of evidence highlights a deep-seated dishonesty within the administration as it sought to shield the Chief Minister from public and religious accountability.
Forensic experts were allegedly offered ₹10 lakh and threatened to produce a clean chit for CM Bhagwant Mann.
Chief Minister Mann had previously leaned heavily on a digital defense, characterizing the footage as “fake” and suggesting it was an AI-generated deepfake weaponized by political opponents. However, forensic reports from two reputed independent laboratories systematically dismantled this defense, finding no evidence of artificial intelligence manipulation or tampering. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) now asserts that Mann’s use of a “judicial shield”—claiming court orders had already vindicated him—was exposed as a hollow tactic when a direct review revealed a lack of any such forensic direction.
With his ‘AI-generated’ defense shattered by forensic labs, Bhagwant Mann faces a terminal crisis of moral authority.
The fallout from this perceived dishonesty has been severe. The Akal Takht has formally declared Mann “Guru Dokhi” (anti-Guru), a label that strips a leader of their moral legitimacy within the socio-political fabric of Punjab. SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami has stated that Mann has forfeited the “moral right” to hold office, as his administration’s strategic stalling and attempts to bribe forensic experts have backfired. The SGPC is now mobilizing a “People’s Court” strategy to demand Mann’s immediate resignation, taking the “Guru Dokhi” declaration directly to the voters to exert maximum pressure on the embattled Chief Minister.
