- Introduction
India and Pakistan—two neighboring countries in South Asia—have remained embroiled in hostility since gaining independence from British rule in 1947. Despite multiple bilateral engagements and international mediation efforts over the decades, the core issues between the two nations, particularly the Kashmir dispute, remain unresolved. With both countries possessing nuclear weapons and frequently issuing provocative threats, the stakes are alarmingly high for regional and global security.
Following the most recent armed conflict between India and Pakistan, which was suspended after the intervention of the U.S. President Donald Trump in May 2025, tensions persist. India has maintained that the conflict is merely on pause and could resume if Pakistan continues to support alleged terror activities in India—allegations for which no verifiable evidence has been presented.
Given the nuclear risks, demographic scale (with nearly 1.7 billion people), and global implications of any military escalation, it is imperative for the international community to proactively mediate and ensure sustainable peace. This proposal advocates for the development of a comprehensive India-Pakistan Conflict Dossier and calls upon global institutions to act as observers and facilitators in the peace process.
- Objective of the Proposal
This proposal seeks international support for:
- The development of a detailed and objective India-Pakistan Conflict Dossier, covering political, historical, military, and humanitarian dimensions of the dispute.
- Deployment of international observers or mediators to monitor the situation and facilitate peaceful conflict resolution.
- Raising global awareness of the implications of continued hostility between the two nations, especially given their nuclear capabilities.
- Key Topics to be Included in the Dossier
- Reasons for the India-Pakistan Conflict
- The Kashmir Dispute
- India’s Terror Allegations Against Pakistan
- Pattern of Terror Activities in India
- Political Objectives of Blaming Pakistan
- Military Capabilities of India and Pakistan
- Water War and Related Geopolitical Tensions
- Dangers of Autonomous Warfare (including AI-driven military tech)
- Possibility of Nuclear War and Its Global Consequences
- Need for International Intervention and Mediation
- Interviews with Observers, Experts, and Diplomats
- Why Global Intervention Is Necessary
Both India and Pakistan continue to escalate their rhetoric, frequently issuing threats of nuclear strikes. In the absence of credible third-party oversight, the danger of miscalculation or intentional escalation remains high. The potential consequences of a nuclear conflict between these nations would be catastrophic—not only for South Asia but for global stability.
By developing a detailed dossier and deploying neutral international observers, the global community can:
- Promote transparency and fact-based discourse;
- Discourage misinformation and propaganda that inflame tensions;
- Facilitate confidence-building measures between the two countries;
- Protect civilians and democratic freedoms, including press freedom;
- Serve as a deterrent against unilateral aggression or escalation.
