Seoul, July 10, 2025 – Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip7, redefining the flip phone experience as a compact AI phone with powerful multimodal capabilities. This new device, championed by TM Roh, President and Acting Head of the Device eXperience (DX) at Samsung Electronics, aims to prove that “big intelligence can come in a small, pocket-sized form factor”.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 features a new edge-to-edge FlexWindow, which is described as the biggest and brightest yet. This 4.1-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow is the largest on a Galaxy Z Flip to date, offering expanded usability directly from the cover screen. It boasts 2,600 nits of peak brightness and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring vivid and fluid visuals even in direct sunlight, further enhanced by Vision Booster for outdoor visibility. The main display is a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X, designed for an immersive viewing experience.

Crafted for portability and durability, the Galaxy Z Flip7 is the thinnest Galaxy Z Flip yet, weighing only 188 grams and measuring 13.7mm when folded. Its cover and back are protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass Victus® 2. Durability is further bolstered by a thinner Armor FlexHinge with a restructured design and high-strength materials, alongside a robust Armor Aluminum Frame.

Powering this compact device is a larger battery and the latest 3nm processor, customized for Galaxy, offering a more powerful CPU, GPU, and NPU than its predecessor. The 4,300mAh battery is the largest ever in the Galaxy Z Flip series, providing up to 31 hours of video playtime on a single charge. For the first time, Samsung DeX comes to a Galaxy Z Flip, allowing users to transform the phone into a handy workstation by connecting it to a screen for PC-like multitasking.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 ushers in a new era of convenience with its “Pocket-Perfect AI”, leveraging enhanced FlexWindow usability and smarter Galaxy AI. Powered by One UI 8 and Android 16 out of the box, it delivers true multimodal AI experiences optimized for the Flip’s iconic design, enabling many tasks to be handled directly from the cover screen.

Users can enjoy AI-powered personalization, including curated wallpaper suggestions, emoji, color, and widget customization. Gemini Live is now available directly on the FlexWindow, allowing hands-free voice search and task completion, such as pulling up flight details or finding restaurants. The Now Bar shows real-time app activity and alerts on the cover screen, integrated with more third-party apps, while Now Brief provides personalized daily updates including traffic, reminders, calendar events, fitness summaries, and music recommendations. The FlexWindow’s clock intelligently adapts to wallpapers, ensuring visibility.

For photography, the Galaxy Z Flip7 offers a “Pocket-Sized Selfie Studio” with flagship-level photography and Samsung’s best selfie camera yet. Its advanced ProVisual Engine intelligently optimizes scenes for crisp, detailed shots in any lighting. The dual rear camera system includes a 50MP Wide and a 12MP Ultra-Wide lens. Enhanced Nightography allows for vivid low-light photos, and 10-bit HDR provides richer colors in video. Selfies are elevated with Real-Time Filters for instant preview and perfection of FlexCam shots, and a new Zoom Slider for quick adjustments. Dual Preview enables both the photographer and subject to see the composition live on the FlexWindow, while Portrait Studio in Photo Assist offers various styles for pet moments.

Samsung also announced the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, aiming to make the foldable experience accessible to more users. This model features a 6.7-inch Main Display and a 50MP FlexCam for high-quality, hands-free selfies. Its cover screen utilizes Now Brief for helpful updates. It will be available in Black and White.

In terms of security, Samsung is reinforcing its mobile protections with new features for on-device AI, expanded cross-device threat detection, and enhanced network security with quantum-resistant encryption. One UI 8 brings Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) for enhanced privacy in personalized AI experiences, creating encrypted, app-specific storage environments. Samsung is also advancing Knox Matrix for proactive protection across the Galaxy ecosystem and integrating post-quantum cryptography into Secure Wi-Fi for robust privacy over public networks.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 will be available for pre-order starting July 9, with general availability beginning July 25. Color options include Blue Shadow, Jetblack, Coralred, and Mint (online exclusive). Samsung Care+ offers comprehensive coverage for accidental damage, and the New Galaxy Club provides access to the latest technology. Additionally, Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 FE users can get expanded access to Google AI Pro and 2TB of cloud storage for 6 months at no cost.
