As U.S. President Donald Trump continues to advocate for a resolution to the long-standing Kashmir dispute, a large majority of respondents in an RMN News public poll believe he deserves recognition for his diplomatic efforts—specifically, the Nobel Peace Prize.
In the online poll hosted by RMN News, readers were asked:
Can President Donald Trump Win the Nobel Peace Prize for Resolving the Kashmir Dispute?
The results as of July 11, 2025, are as follows:
- ✅ Yes – 73.98%
- ❌ No – 20.33%
- ❓ Can’t Say – 5.69%
These results reflect growing public support for Trump’s role in facilitating the India–Pakistan ceasefire in May 2025, which followed the devastating Pahalgam terror attack in April. Trump has publicly claimed credit for de-escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors and has expressed willingness to mediate a long-term solution to the Kashmir conflict, one of the world’s most sensitive and unresolved territorial disputes.
A High-Stakes Diplomatic Gamble
The Kashmir issue has remained a flashpoint for over seven decades, involving complex geopolitical, religious, and human rights dimensions. Trump’s bold claim to help “resolve” the matter has received mixed responses globally. However, the poll results suggest a significant portion of the public views his involvement as a step toward peace worthy of global recognition.
The Nobel Peace Prize, awarded annually by the Norwegian Nobel Committee, has previously gone to leaders such as Barack Obama, Nelson Mandela, Jimmy Carter, and Abiy Ahmed for their contributions to peace and conflict resolution.
If Trump succeeds in facilitating a meaningful and lasting peace agreement that includes the voices of all stakeholders—especially the people of Kashmir—he could make a strong case for joining that list.
Public Engagement Reflects Global Interest
The RMN News poll attracted responses from readers across multiple platforms and was accompanied by coverage on both RMN News and the humanitarian portal RMN Foundation, which addressed the Kashmir issue from the perspective of persecuted communities.
“This level of public interest shows how deeply the Kashmir issue resonates globally, and how closely people are watching Trump’s next move,” said an RMN editorial spokesperson.
As diplomatic developments continue, RMN News will monitor the situation closely and publish updates, analysis, and perspectives from all sides of the conflict.
