NEW DELHI, June 25, 2025 – The White House has declined to address a series of pressing questions regarding the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict and President Donald Trump’s claims of mediating a ceasefire, leaving critical issues surrounding regional stability and alleged terror attacks unaddressed.
RMN News, through its editor Rakesh Raman, had sought clarification from President Trump’s office and the US State Department on several discrepancies between Washington’s assertions and India’s stance. The queries, sent on June 19, 2025, aimed to shed light on the true nature of the “ceasefire” and the unresolved issues stemming from the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack.
The US State Department, in a terse response received on June 20, merely stated, “Off the record, we defer to the White House,” (likely meaning “refer to the White House”), effectively deflecting responsibility and signaling a reluctance to engage with the substantive questions. As of June 25, 2025, no response has been received from the White House/President Trump, indicating a deliberate avoidance of the “real issues.”

Key Unanswered Questions and Concerns:
- Conflicting Ceasefire Claims: Despite President Trump’s repeated claims of mediating a ceasefire between India and Pakistan after the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly strongly refuted this in a recent 35-minute phone call. Modi asserted that India’s “Operation Sindoor,” a military attack on Pakistan, is continuing, directly contradicting Trump’s statements. The White House has not provided a transcript of this crucial phone conversation, nor has it clarified whether President Trump still maintains his mediation claim.
- Status of “Operation Sindoor”: While Trump speaks of a ceasefire, Modi’s reported statement that “Operation Sindoor” is ongoing raises serious questions about the actual situation on the ground and the effectiveness of any purported US-brokered truce.
- Pahalgam Attack Investigation: Queries regarding the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack, why they have not been arrested, and the possibility of the Modi regime orchestrating such attacks for political advantage (by blaming Pakistan to please Hindu voters) remain unanswered. This concern is amplified by allegations that the Modi government released fake sketches of alleged terrorists.
- US Stance on Terror Allegations: RMN News pressed President Trump on whether he supports India’s terror allegations against Pakistan, particularly in light of India’s claims often lacking concrete evidence. The silence from the White House on this critical point is notable.
- Demand for Independent Investigations: A crucial request was made for the US to arrange independent investigations into the Pahalgam attack of 2025, the Pulwama attack of 2019, and other such terror incidents in India. This is essential to ascertain Pakistan’s alleged involvement, as India claims, or to reveal any internal orchestration, as some suspect. The White House’s silence suggests a disinterest in pursuing objective truth.
- Modi’s Alleged Refusal of US Invitation: RMN News also sought clarification on reports that Prime Minister Modi refused President Trump’s invitation to the US after the G7 Summit in Canada, further highlighting potential diplomatic fissures.
- Kashmir Dispute and Neutral Site Talks: Despite US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s statement on May 10 that leaders of India and Pakistan “agreed to start talks on a broad set of issues at a neutral site,” the White House has not confirmed whether it will intervene to resolve the Kashmir dispute or if a neutral site has been identified.
The lack of transparency from the White House on these critical issues underscores a troubling trend of avoiding direct accountability and leaving a vacuum of information that can fuel speculation and mistrust in a volatile region. RMN News emphasizes the immediate need for independent investigations into all terror attacks in India, advocating against blindly trusting the narratives presented by the Modi regime and the Indian Army.
