Bisleri Still Silent on Water Purity Transparency Despite Serious Health Concerns

As a company supplying a basic human necessity, Bisleri must uphold its duty to protect public health — not just profits.

July 7, 2025 | New Delhi – Despite a detailed complaint and widespread public attention on the issue of possible adulteration in Bisleri-branded bottled water, Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. has yet to provide a clear response on how consumers can independently verify the purity of its water products.

This follow-up report comes days after the publication of my original article on June 21, 2025, titled “Bisleri’s Blatant Negligence Raises Alarms About Water Purity and Consumer Safety”.

No Response to Public Request

In my earlier correspondence with Bisleri, I had specifically urged the company to make its water purity evaluation process publicly available — ideally on its official website — so that consumers could verify the safety of what they are drinking.

However, as of July 7, 2025, Bisleri has neither addressed this core demand nor published any consumer-focused information to transparently assure the public of its product safety standards.

Although I received a call from a Bisleri representative on June 24, where a manager acknowledged the issue and promised to discuss it with her seniors, there has been no further communication or visible action taken.

Consumer Safety at Stake

The issue is not limited to a communication lapse. It raises broader concerns about corporate accountability and public health. If Bisleri continues to operate without publicly sharing how it ensures the safety of its drinking water, it not only betrays consumer trust, but could also be putting millions of lives at risk — especially in regions like Delhi where clean drinking water is already scarce.

Without transparent processes, consumers remain completely in the dark about what they’re consuming and are left vulnerable to the risks of contaminated or adulterated water.

Ongoing Demand for Clarity

Here are the key demands I am reiterating to Bisleri in the public interest:

  1. Public Disclosure of the Water Testing Process: Consumers must be able to verify water purity using an open and verifiable procedure.
  2. Accountability for Distributors: Bisleri must monitor and penalize distributors involved in any water adulteration.
  3. Prompt and Responsible Communication: Perfunctory calls and automated emails are not acceptable substitutes for substantive action and transparency.
  4. Health and Consumer Safety Assurance: As a company supplying a basic human necessity, Bisleri must uphold its duty to protect public health — not just profits.

Call to Action

In the interest of public health and consumer rights, I once again call upon Bisleri, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), and other relevant agencies to take this issue seriously and act promptly.

If no tangible progress is made, I will be compelled to escalate this matter further through formal complaints and public advocacy.
