Journalist Warns of Widespread Vote Theft, Predicts BJP’s ‘Fake Factor’ Strategy for Punjab 2027 Elections

The BJP consistently creates “fake factors” or “false pretexts” before elections to justify their victories. These factors are presented to the public as reasons for their success, masking the underlying vote manipulation.

A prominent journalist and social activist, Rakesh Raman, has voiced strong concerns over alleged widespread vote theft in Indian elections, claiming that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), often equated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, consistently wins elections through manipulation rather than genuine public mandate. He suggests this pattern will extend to the Punjab Assembly Elections in 2027, urging Punjab’s civil society to undertake permanent protests to safeguard electoral integrity.

Raman asserts that vote theft is a 100% certainty and that Modi could not win any election without it and the manipulation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). He has maintained this view since before 2014 and has even created a microsite dedicated to EVM and election theft.

According to Raman, the BJP (or Modi, as he frequently refers to the party as such) consistently creates “fake factors” or “false pretexts” before elections to justify their victories. These factors are presented to the public as reasons for their success, masking the underlying vote manipulation. Examples cited include the Pulwama attack, Operation Sindoor, Balakot air strikes, the “Ladli Behna” campaign, and anti-Muslim campaigns.

Raman claims that these “fake factors” do not genuinely sway the majority of voters, particularly as he estimates 80 crore out of 100 crore Indian voters are illiterate and unable to comprehend such nuanced campaign promises or events. He states that he himself has not voted in 25 years due to his belief that all political parties are dishonest.

Raman also critiques the current state of opposition leadership. He notes that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has highlighted election irregularities but acts more like a news reporter or YouTuber, failing to provide concrete solutions or lead effective action.

He points to a recent incident where approximately 30-40 (though reported as 300) Members of Parliament attempted to complain to the Election Commission of India (ECI) about vote theft and a specific revision process (Special Intensive Revision – SIR) in Bihar, but dispersed after being stopped by police, returning to their homes. Raman argues that such temporary actions are ineffective, contrasting them with three successful movements in India’s recent history:

  • The Anna Hazare movement, which led to a change in government.
  • The anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) movement in places like Shaheen Bagh, which prevented the law’s implementation.
  • The farmers’ protest, which led to the purported repeal of certain laws (though Raman expresses skepticism about their actual repeal).

He highlights that these successful movements were “perpetual campaigns,” where protestors remained permanently in one location for extended periods. Raman believes Rahul Gandhi is too weak to lead such a sustained protest and suggests he might even be collaborating with the BJP, given his own alleged corruption cases like the National Herald case. He urges Gandhi to stage a solo, permanent protest to end vote theft if no one else joins him.

Regarding the 2027 Punjab elections, Raman predicts a similar strategy of vote manipulation. He anticipates that the BJP will forge an alliance with the Akali Dal, specifically Sukhbir Badal’s group, and this coalition will be presented as a “fake factor” to justify their victory. The actual outcome, he claims, will be achieved through vote rigging.

Raman also draws attention to a new proposed law that would automatically remove any Chief Minister, Minister, or Prime Minister from their post if they remain in jail for 30 days. He suggests this law could be used to target opposition leaders, such as Tejashwi Yadav (Lalu Prasad’s son) in Bihar, by imprisoning them on corruption charges for 30 days. This would cause leadership to destabilize, enabling the BJP to induce defections and form their own government. He warns that this strategy could also be applied in Punjab.

Initially, Raman believed Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann might perform well in the upcoming elections, given the weakened state of the Congress and Akali parties, and the BJP’s minimal presence in Punjab. However, he now argues that Bhagwant Mann has “shot himself in the foot” by inviting leaders from Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), whom Raman describes as “fugitive prisoners” from Delhi jails, to campaign in Punjab.

He specifically criticizes Manish Sisodia, alleging that he ruined Delhi schools and now gives “goon-like” speeches in Punjab. Raman also notes that AAP leaders speaking Hindi in Punjab demonstrates their lack of understanding of the state. He advises Mann, despite being uneducated, to create new jokes and stories to attract voters.

Raman concludes by calling upon the civil society of Punjab to immediately initiate a permanent protest against vote theft. He warns that without such action, the BJP, potentially even in collaboration with Bhagwant Mann, could form a government through manipulation, leading to five years of regret for the people.

He notes that while the BJP manipulates elections where it wants to win, it sometimes allows other parties to win in smaller states like Himachal, Bengal, Karnataka, or Telangana, or in states where its presence is negligible (like Punjab), to avoid making its vote theft universally obvious.
